Concealers

Ok, so I have used a million different kinds over the years.  I still do have several different kinds that I  use.  Different concealers are for different things and different skin types.  But, I worked recently with another makeup artist who was using them as foundation on a job where the producer wanted only a little concealer so that the models would look natural.  He was using an inexpensive drug store brand and I was astonished and honestly a bit appalled.  Well, don't stick your nose up too fast!  I used it today and it was beautiful.  Hmmm, who knew.
Does anyone want to know what brand?

Makeup Show

The once a year major makeup show, IMATS, will be at the Pasadena Convention Center 19-20 Jan.  Be there or be square!

Colour

This is just my opinion.  I really dislike seeing blonde or light hair with dark eyebrows that don't match or even look like they are on the same person.  I know, I know, Lady Gaga and other very famous icons can get away with it.  In fact anyone can get away with it if it is done well and they are beautiful enough or famous enough.  But, I just personally don't like it.  Many of us spend lots of time and dollars trying to change the colour of our hair.  Usually we have it done by a professional so that it will look natural, then forget the brows that scream "I dyed my hair".  What do you think?

Perfect foundation

So I have been noticing lately in a couple of big block buster films that they are having trouble with the foundation.  Here is something that I figured out early on about foundation.  If you have a red complexion, it will be difficult for you to find a foundation that is a perfect fit.  Let's face it, it is difficult for most of us to find a perfect fit straight off the shelf.  Find another colour that is red-ish and add a little bit to the one that is the closest fit to your shade.  This way you can knock down the red without completely trying to eradicate it.  If you did knock out the red completely, you would look like you were wearing a mask and it wouldn't match your neck or decolletage at all.
